The First Amendment: Who needs it?

I see now that genetic evolution means the end of the freedoms secured in the first amendment. I overheard a conversation where a group were taking about a zealous atheist. Then one said that his family was Salvation Army so even though he was an atheist he held it religiously because he had the religious gene.

We are getting to the point where we customarily think that genes determine everything about us including our opinions and that the diversity of opinions is explained by the evolutionary diversification of genes. There is thus no reasonable motivation for discussion or debate over any issue and thus the motives the Founders had for providing and protecting lively civil debate to promote the health of democracy have no force. Opinions are only useful for diagnosing behavioral dispositions in order to manage them socially.
