Christianity in the Indian Subcontinent

I found a very interesting book in the library - The Atlas of Global Christianity, edited by Todd M. Johnson of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary & Kenneth R. Ross of Edinburgh University School of Divinity. The link to the book is up above. I could almost want to buy the book, but it costs $200.00... ack.

Here I just want to jot some basic facts about Christianity in the Indian Subcontinent. It will be just the facts, not any explanation due to time constraints.

Fact 1: Hidden Giants - "Both China and India are among the countries with the most total Christians.  Because each country is less than 10% Christian, however, this fact is often overlooked." pg. 59

Fact 2: From 1910 to 2010, the growth of Xnty in Nepal p.a. was 12.13% - the third fastest growth behind Burkino Faso (13.58%) and Chad (13.44%).  From 2000 to 2010, Nepal's growth is 4.67%, the 6th fastest. BTW, the fastest in the last 10 years is Afghanistan at 19.01% p.a.

Population of Xtns in country X 1910 2010
India 4,272,000 58,367,000
Sri Lanka 443,000 1,714,000
Pakistan 96,900 3,923,000
Bangladesh 40,000 859,000
Nepal ??? 935,000
